On Friday 9 January we received a visit from Michel Vandenbosch and Loes Van den Heuvel. Michel is the Chairman and co-founder of GAIA (Global Action in the Interest of Animals) which is the most influential and one of the best-known animal rights organisations in Belgium. Loes is a Flemish actress, singer and household name in Belgium. She is best known for her role as the inquisitive Carmen in the long-running sitcom F.C. De Kampioenen, which she played for 21 years.

We believe that animals should also be treated with respect and have the right to a dignified existence. We advocate a relationship between humans and animals that is characterised by humanity and justice.
