Groundforce 2022 held at the PAWS-PATAS shelter on the 14th May was a "resounding success" says President Christine Knox.
Around 25 people turned out to help clean up the shelter and cut back overgrown trees and bushes following the terrible winter and floods had taken their toll.
Christine said, ”Without the help of these kind hearted and generous people, our shelter would still be in a terrible state, and I want to say thank you to everyone who came along that day."
"Covid, and the last poor winter, has had a shocking affect on the volunteering personnel we usually get helping to keep all our dogs and cats are safe and cared for, and so there has been little time and opportunity for maintenance works”.
The Charity are currently advertising and recruiting for Volunteers, which will include people who want to help with dog walking, fostering, maintenance, transporting and much more.
