Every week we want to introduce one of our fantastic volunteers...
Meet Camilla!
"Hi, I’m Camilla from the UK.
Within a couple of months of moving out here (2021), I picked up the first, of the many abandoned dogs here in Andalucía, Spain.
I took her to PAWS-PATASwhere she was welcomed with immediate love and open arms. I named her Felicity and within 3 months she was living the life in Holland. How wonderful is that!
This is why I volunteer here at PAWS-PATAS. All of us are here to look after, love and care for the street, abandoned, discarded and abused dogs, young puppies and elderly unwanted dogs. Most importantly our aim is to re home the dogs with the best possible families.
I would adopt them all but wouldn’t still have a husband! I managed to adopt Shiro from the shelter last December. He had been dumped in a town at 3 months old. He is a Spanish Podenco Maneto, a typical hunting dog. He is a cheeky, gorgeous boy who reminded us that puppies will chew ANYTHING! Paws also has a lovely homely cat section with kittens and stray cats galore!
I am obsessed with dogs and their unconditional love they give, no matter what trauma and abuse their life has entailed. I was brought up with dogs all my life and could never be without one.
Here is photo of me and Otis who was found in the campo (countryside), dumped aged 4 weeks with his 2 other siblings. Luckily they were found by a family walking their dog. All three were brought to PAWS-PATAS. We were and still are so full, so I agreed to foster them. One of the sisters was later adopted by the same family that found her, and Otis and Opal spent a little time in the shelter before being adopted in Holland."
