Permanent foster scheme cats
Permanent fostering is for people who want to give a cat a loving home but cannot afford the cost of adoption or unexpected vet bills.
The cat lives with you permanently and is part of your family. PAWS-PATAS keeps legal responsibility for the cat and pays for veterinary care. This includes vaccinations, neutering, routine treatments, and major medical treatment if needed.
You provide the home, daily care, food, and love. We manage the medical costs and long-term welfare planning.
This scheme exists because vet bills are the biggest reason people cannot adopt. Permanent fostering removes that risk and allows cats, including those with medical needs, to leave the shelter and live in a stable home.
Permanent fostering is not short-term. It is a long-term commitment and a partnership between you and PAWS-PATAS. Our cattery is not a boarding facility, so we cannot take cats back temporarily if you go on holiday or are away. Fosterers must make their own arrangements for the cat’s care during these periods.
If you can offer a safe, stable home but adoption costs are not possible for you, permanent fostering is a practical and compassionate alternative.
